Own the Feed: Girls Who Think, Create, and Lead
Stop the scroll and own the feed, because you think, create, and lead!
Kick-off 2026 National Media Literacy week with Girls+ Media Lab to explore ways of consuming and creating media in mindful and impactful ways. Youth will gain hands-on experience and practical strategies to notice, question, and reshape the media around them from other youth rising stars in the local media landscape. Free for Rhode Island girls & gender expansive youth (ages 13-18) and their parents, space is limited and registration is required.
- Creative self-espression through media literacy
- Consume media mindfully, craft media mindfully
- Workshops led by local media insiders
- Hands-on media evaluation experience
- Strategies to question & reshape narratives
- Tools to protect mental health online
Doors will open at 8:30am, breakfast will be provided, and programing starts at 9am. Youth programing brought to you by from Women's Fund of Rhode Island, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, Ocean State Media and the RI Girls+ Coalition.
