Daily Acts Organization is excited to invite you to our

Summer Fruit Tree Pruning at the Cavanagh Center Food Forest

About This Event

'Tis the season to tend to our fruit trees!

Join us in learning about summer pruning at one of Daily Acts' most mature demonstration gardens. The Cavanagh Center Food Forest is home to a diversity of fruit trees of varying species and ages, and you'll leave this program with a better understanding of :

  • Pruning best-practices
  • Winter pruning vs summer pruning (with an emphasis on summer cuts)
  • How seasonal pruning benefits tree health and production

We're pleased to be collaborating with Clare Riesman, local arborist and farm & garden educator to learn how to make summer pruning cuts on stone fruit (plums, apricots), pome fruit (apples, pears), and figs

*Note*

  • This program will include an outdoor presentation and demonstration of pruning basics
  • We will be standing for the majority of the time, so please feel free to bring a stool if you would like seating
  • Citrus will not be covered in this class as it is better suited for late winter/early spring pruning

Please do not hesitate to contact gabi@dailyacts.org or call (707) 789 9664 if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you out there!
