Birds of Prey Fall Migration

Registration ends Saturday, 11/14/2026 8:30am PDT

About This Event

Join us as we hike the Coastal Prairie Loop and watch raptors soar high above the coastal grasslands along their fall migration route.

This moderately strenuous hike will be about 4 miles and include over 800 feet in elevation gain from the coastal bluffs to the edge of the forested ridgeline. From this vantage point, we will be in prime observation territory to witness the acrobatic feats of these marvelous birds of prey.

Adrian Johnson of West County Hawk Watch, will be leading the hike and helping us to identify the raptors that we encounter along the way. Make sure to bring your binoculars to catch all the action!

Suggested Items to Bring

  • binoculars
  • water
  • snacks/lunch
  • good hiking footwear
  • sun protection
  • layers for sun/wind/fog
