About This Event
This free 90 minute workshop is open to the community and is intended to offer an informative, interactive experience to individuals, parents, and others whose lives are touched by autism.
After attending this workshop, participants will:
- Have a definition of autism that promotes an understanding of needs and challenges for individuals on the spectrum.
- Have an awareness of various treatment approaches taken with individuals on the spectrum, with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its purpose.
Our guest speaker will be Niki McCoy, M.A. BCBA who has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for over 6 years and has her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis. Presently Niki works as a Divisional Clinical Supervisor with Autism Spectrum Interventions based in Fullerton and serves as an Adjunct Faculty in the Stanford School of Education at National University.
Niki's passion for working with children and families spans over 30 years, working in education and home settings, and includes over 15 years in the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, as a Recreation and Behavior Interventionist.
