About This Event

Join us in a fun, informal 2-hour workshop on self-expression through art, facilitated by Hila Abada, LCSW.   The workshop is open to anyone 18 years and older and no training or ability in art is necessary.  Participants will have an opportunity to experience a relaxing, creative way to express and learn about yourself through some simple art activities.  Expressive art is a way of promoting self-awareness and strengthening your inner voice through creativity.

Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to create an individual piece of artwork to take home as a unique gift to yourself. After attending this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Create an art journal to explore and express thoughts and feelings.
  • Use your art journal to gain insight on issues of your choosing. (Art journaling is very useful in decision making!)

Hila is a licensed clinical social worker who has combined art therapy with her extensive experience in mental health as a supervisor, trainer and associate professor.  After growing up in South Africa during the Apartheid regime, Hila lived and studied in Israel where she began her studies in mental health and art therapy. After relocating to New York in the late 1990’s, she worked in community mental health and served on the faculty at NYU.  Hila relocated to Orange County in 2016, where she provides voluntary art workshops.
