We lost a beautiful friend on April 29 to a tragic accident near the Campo YMCA on Culbreath Drive. Jackie Okun was hit by a car while running with friends and lost her life here in earth. Her devotion to swimming, running and overall fitness was legendary. 

In her memory the YMCA has created a way to make donations that will impact several of her life passions. Jackie swam daily at the YMCA pool and was a school teacher for many years. Therefore, these donations will be earmarked for scholarships to the YMCA children’s swim lesson program. We hope by you honoring Jackie in this way, water safety will be enhanced, and a life may someday be saved.

A memorial service for Jackie will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 PM. The address is 2913 John Moore Rd., Brandon, FL 33511.
