Training Description:

In preparation for licensure renewal, please consider attending this workshop (divided into two parts to make it more accessible) if you need to secure your required four hours of Ethics &Boundaries. Part I of the training will focus on the foundational principles, informed consent & confidentiality, and setting the foundation of professional boundaries. In Part II, we will explore the boundaries of our professional responsibilities, including dual relationships, navigating our competence, and determining when to terminate, all while incorporating an ethical decision-making model.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Evaluate their own competence limitations and risk mitigation strategies.

2. To examine common ethical dilemmas typical to community mental health settings, including but not limited to dual relationships and conflicts of interest.

3. Attendees will be able to apply ethical concerns through the Ethical C.O.R.E. model.

   

2.0 NBCC/ACEP #6760 CE Hours Awarded to Registrants Who Attend the Entire Training Session and Submit the Evaluation 

*Journey Mental Health Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6760. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credits are clearly identified. Journey Mental Health Center is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.

Presenter's Bio:

William Hutter, PsyD, LMFT, NDCCDP, is adjunct faculty at Northwestern University, teaching various courses, such as Power, Privilege, and Difference; Family of Origin; Basic Concepts in Family Therapy; Family Therapy with Children and Adolescents; Group Therapy; Internship and Pre-practicum courses; and Systemic Perspectives in Substance Use Disorder.  He has his own LLC, FourRivers, where he provides virtual therapy with LGBTQ+ youth and adults, adults experiencing sexual dysfunction, and conflictual queer couples in WI, IL, SC, and ME. He also provides consultation, supervision, and workshops/trainings.
