Running has always been a part of my life and something that I have excelled at to the point of earning a Division One scholarship in college in both cross country and track and field. However, The Army of Survivors is near and dear to my heart. A very dear friend of mine, Danielle Moore, who I consider to be my little sister, is a Survivor, and I honor her strength and willingness to use her voice and tell her story to make sure no victim of sexual assault is silenced and always seen and heard.

As an athlete, I have been running since the age of 7, and NYC will be my tenth marathon. I ran the Indianapolis Marathon in 2021 in 3:35 to qualify for the 2022 Boston Marathon, where I ran on behalf of my late parents, who had passed away that same year 104 days apart. As a PE and Health teacher, it is extremely important to me to be a good example to my students so that they realize that being healthy is a lifestyle choice and not just something you do once in a while.

I always strive to be a positive role model in my community and especially to my students. I believe that hard work and having goals are something you should always work for, and even if achieving the goal is hard, it doesn't mean you give up. All these traits I have listed are traits that I see in The Army of Survivors, and I am honored to represent each and every survivor.
