About This Event
Junior Explorers: Orienteering 101
Calling all Junior Explorers and families! Are you ready for an outdoor adventure? Put your sense of direction to the test and learn how to find your way using a map, landmarks, and a little problem-solving!
Discover the basics of orienteering with Conservancy of the Sea Islands—an outdoor activity that combines navigation, exploration, and adventure.
Participants will learn how to read a map, use a compass, spot important landmarks, plan a route, and navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint. After practicing the basics, they’ll put their new skills to the test on a beginner-friendly course at The Gathering Ground.
No exeperience needed—just bring your sense of adventure, and get ready to explore the Sea Islands while learning valuable outdoor skills!
It is strongly suggested to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes as participants will be going off-trail. If you have a known allergy to bee stings, ant bites, or other insects, please bring any necessary allergy medication with you.

-
A parent/guardian must stay with your child throughout the program.
-
