The "Sickle Cell Crisis Relief Program" provides a Response-Aid Kit filled with essential necessities related to a SCD patient's physical struggle before, during, and after a Sickle Cell Crisis, at home and/or during a hospital stay or tele-health conference, and allays some initial out-of-pocket expenses.
One of the main goals of the program is to assist Sickle Cell Disease patients and families in preventing and protecting them from experiencing the awful effects of the virus which are associated with their compromised immune systems.
The Sickle Cell Crisis Relief Care Kit is housed in a backpack than can include healthcare items such as face masks; gloves; hand sanitizer; soap; thermometer; pain relieving topical medications; vitamins; blanket; hat; socks; water bottle; hygiene packs; tablet and/or IPAD; notebooks; pen/pencils; playing cards; games; backscratchers; special heating pads to help relieve excessive pain; Gatorade to replenish electrolytes and hydrate the patient’s body; and much much more.
