Saving Kittens Together: A Day with the Kitten Lady on May 30, 2026

Registration ends Wednesday, 05/27/2026 5:00pm MDT

About This Event

Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue is thrilled to welcome renowned kitten rescuer, educator, and animal advocate "Kitten Lady" Hannah Shaw for a special event on Saturday, May 30th dedicated to saving the tiniest and most vulnerable felines.

Join us for an inspiring and educational day as Hannah shares practical, lifesaving knowledge about caring for neonatal kittens, along with stories and insights from her years of rescue work. Whether you’re a foster caregiver, animal welfare professional, or simply a cat lover, you’ll gain valuable tips and a deeper understanding of how we can work together to help kittens survive and thrive.

Saving Kittens Workshop (10:30 am to 12:30 pm)

This fun and accessible workshop focuses on caring for the smallest and most vunerable kittens (newborns to eight weeks). Topics include:

  • Exploring the unique challenges kittens face in shelters and outdoors
  • Understanding kitten development and key milestones
  • Learning how to bottle feed, wean, socialize, and prepare kittens (and you) for adoption
  • Performing health assessments and monitoring stools, urine, and overall wellbeing

This workshop is open to community members, volunteers, foster carers, shelter/rescue partners and feline advocates of all ages and experience levels.

VIP Meet & Greet Experience (12:30 to 1:30 pm)

Want an exclusive opportunity to meet Hannah in a small-group setting? VIP guests will enjoy a casual meet-and-greet, photo opportunities, and a chance to chat with the Kitten Lady herself about kitten rescue, fostering, and advocacy. All ages are welcome!

Advanced Neonatal Care Workshop (2:30 to 5:30 pm)

Ready to expand your skills and knowledge in caring for neonatal kittens? This workshop is open to shelter professionals, rescue leaders, veterinary teams, and dedicated neonatal kitten foster caregivers who want to deepen their skills and gain confidence to take on fragile and complex cases. Topics include:

  • Understanding neonatal kitten morbility and mortality, common diseases (panleukopenia, ringworm, respiratory conditions), and why kittens may suddenly decline
  • Monitoring, assessing, and supporting neonatal health and wellbeing
  • Exploring how neonatal body systems function and the science behind caring for neonates
  • Developing foundational supportive care skills like tube feeding, fluid therapy, and other critical interventions
  • Creating an effective biosecure environment to protect neonates from disease transmission
  • Discussing real-life scenarios, best practices, and current research topics

This workshop assumes a strong foundational knowledge of neonatal kitten care (attendees must be over 18 years of age). Registration for this workshop will be open to the public starting on April 24th.

Come spend the day celebrating compassion, community, and kitten rescue—while supporting the lifesaving work of Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue. 🐾
