PNTA's vision is that the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail forever provides access to some of the West's most scenic, rugged, and remote landscapes, and that we protect this land for generations to come. However, the PNT needs your help as we struggle amidst federal funding decreases.

With no USFS staff to perform trail maintenance along the PNT, the burden of keeping the trail safe and accessible falls to PNTA, the USFS's primary partner. However, those same federal budget cuts also affected our funding, resulting in a 50% decrease in our professional trail crew staff and a 50% reduction in the number of hours on the trail in 2025. 

Even so, we were able to remove over 2,600 hazardous and downed trees from the trail to keep it safe and accessible for recreation in 2025. Imagine what we could have done if we'd been fully funded!
