Songbird Bander Training
Dates: Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20
Times: 7:30 AM-12:30 PM both days.
Join the Bird Banding Crew! Are you interested in becoming a member of Beaver Creek Reserve’s Bird Banding Crew? Join us for a two-day introduction to bird banding and discover how you can become involved in this hands-on citizen science project.
Participants will learn the basics of bird banding, including techniques for safely capturing, handling, banding, and taking measurements of birds. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities, allowing participants to find a role that matches their interests, comfort level, and experience.
Following training, banding takes place weekly on Tuesday mornings, providing volunteers with an opportunity to continue building their skills and contributing to this long-running monitoring project.
Please note: This is a two-day training, and attendance is required both days. By signing up for this program, you are signing up for both days of the training.
Ages: 16+
Cost: BCR Members & Non-Members $80, Students $40

Cancellations for programs and special events made more than 48 hours before the program/event date will receive a full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee.
Cancellations made between 24–48 hours before the program/event date will receive a 75% refund of the total registration cost, minus a 10% administrative fee.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the program/event date are not eligible for a refund.
Material/Supply Fee Refunds
Some programs/events may include an optional material or supply fee in addition to the registration cost.
If a cancellation is received before registration closes for that program/event, the material/supply fee will be fully refunded, minus a $0.25 processing fee.
If a cancellation is received after registration closes, the material/supply fee is non-refundable.
