About This Event

Introduction to Orienteering
Orienteering is the sport of navigating between control points by using only a map and a compass.
In this one and a half hour class, you will learn about the key elements of an orienteering map, how orienteering maps differ from other types of maps, the various types of orienteering events, essential gear, fundamental navigation techniques, route choice strategies, and local opportunities to get involved in this activity.
Join us to discover this beautiful activity and experience the outdoors in a whole new way! This program is geared towards adults and young adults.

The class is taught by Aviad Fuchs, an experienced orienteering instructor with over 25 years of recreational and competitive experience in both civilian and military settings.

Cost: BCR Members $16 and Non-members $20
Ages: 16+
Location: Wise Nature Center at Beaver Creek Reserve in the Auditorium
