More than 100 dogs need three walks, and more than 200 cats need fresh litter every day.

Hundreds of animals need to be fed. Kennels need to be deep cleaned. Medications need to be given. Laundry needs to be washed. Surgeries need to be prepared for. And every animal needs attention, enrichment, and love.

This is the everyday work behind every second chance.

Sometimes the work starts before sunrise.

When a large rescue call comes in, the team may arrive early to load empty crates, drive for hours to the rescue site, fill those crates with animals, and make the trip back to bring them to safety.

And the work doesn't stop when the shelter closes to the public.

On Mondays, the work continues. On holidays, it continues. When severe weather makes normal operations impossible, someone stays onsite.

There is someone here every single day. Because the animals depend on us.

It helps provide the food, cleaning supplies, medical care, veterinary services, staffing, utilities, and daily care hundreds of animals need.

We use more than:

2,000–3,000 disposable gloves each month
300 pounds of laundry detergent each month
180 bottles of bleach each month
110 gallons of Rescue cleaner each month

And vaccines alone cost approximately $60,000–$70,000 each year, before medications, diagnostics, medical supplies, specialty care, and surgeries.
