Land as Teacher: Makwa Dibiki-Giizis (Bear Moon)
Come join Gokoomis (Grandmother) Jacque(line) Lavallee from Shawanaga First Nation and Dr. Hopi Martin Oshkaabewis (Ceremonial Helper, Messenger, and Fire Keeper) as we share teachings and stories about Bear Moon and how they relate to living a Good Life with our children and families living close to Mother Earth. Free event with donations being directed to the Land as First Teacher Fund which was created to support Indigenous families accessing conservation lands and land-based teachings. 

This event is FREE, but please consider making an impact with a donation to the Land as Our First Teacher Fund. You will support making conservation lands accessible to urban Indigenous children and their families by helping with transportation costs, honorariums for Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and other material costs that support Land-based Indigenous Education.
