End of Year Giving Strategies: Tax Smart Ways to Give
Thoughtful generosity can make a meaningful difference for both the causes you care about and your overall financial plans. New Pathways for Youth invites supporters, community partners, and anyone interested in charitable giving to join us for a practical and engaging workshop exploring smart, tax-efficient ways to maximize your impact. Whether you're considering a year-end gift, planning for the future, or simply looking to learn more, this session will provide valuable insights to help you give with confidence and purpose.
Together, we’ll explore charitable giving strategies that may help reduce your tax burden, maximize available deductions, and allow more of your gift to support the causes that matter most to you. The session will cover the importance of timing your contributions, donating appreciated assets, and considering non-cash giving options such as donor-advised funds, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs, gifts of stock, securities, and other tax-smart vehicles. These strategies can help you align your charitable goals with your broader financial plans while potentially increasing the impact of your support.
Whether you’ve walked alongside New Pathways for years or are just beginning to explore charitable giving, this workshop will offer clear guidance, practical ideas, and space to ask questions before making important year-end decisions. You’ll also see how tax-smart generosity can help young people overcome adversity, believe in their futures, and build lives filled with joy and purpose.
Meet our Presenter, CJ MIller:

CJ joined Sensible Money in 2016 as the firm’s first intern after being inspired by founder Dana Anspach’s approach to financial planning. Since then, he has advanced through multiple roles to become a Partner and Executive Financial Planner, managing client relationships and helping individuals and families navigate complex financial decisions. CJ holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Retirement Management Advisor® (RMA®), and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designations.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, CJ lives in Phoenix with his wife, daughter, and Labrador Retriever, Teddy. He is actively involved in the community, serving on the board of New Pathways for Youth and previously serving in leadership roles with the Financial Planning Association of Greater Phoenix and the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix. Outside of work, CJ enjoys boxing, hiking Arizona’s trails, and spending time with his family.
