California Disability Community Town Hall

About This Event

The Disability Inclusion Fund and the Disability & Philanthropy Forum will be hosting two California-based town halls. The purpose of this event is to convene CA based funders in a facilitated setting with panels, and in thoughtful discussion with frontline movement organizers and advocates to hear the advocacy pillars and priorities of the disability movement. The Town Hall will be held on October 6th at the Ed Roberts Campus in the Bay Area, and on October 8th at the James West Alumni Center in Los Angeles.

Issue areas: 

  • Medi-Cal
  • Institutionalization of the unhoused population/housing 
  • Emergency response to climate crises
  • Economic mobility: unionization, long-term care 
  • Immigration / Migrant / Refugees
  • Data security & privacy rights, AI: technology
