INCALL: Open Stage with Tivali Thomas

About This Event

Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art and OBJECTDEFY present INCALL, a monthly writing workshop and open mic–hosted, soundscaped, and DJ’d by Tivali Thomas (@dollnxtdoor). We invite writers and artists working in all media for an intimate exchange of ideas, creativity, and raw expression.

INCALL begins with a themed workshop inviting participants to be inspired by the space and write, create, and play with sound and material. During this time, you can also sign up for the open mic, a time to present music, visual art, writing, and work of any kind.  INCALL encourages the exploration of sexuality, identity, and perception through all media. We invite both the creation and sharing of work, offering collaborative opportunities and connection.

After performances, we will host an hour of decompression and refreshments–time to enjoy music, experience the exhibitions on view, and socialize.

INCALL is open to everyone at all levels of artistry, including and encouraging those who do not self-identify as artists. Workshop materials will be provided. Arrive on time to sign up for performance hour; limited slots will be  available!

This event series and workshop is co-produced by Bubbagum. Air purification at all programs in this series is generously provided by A.I.R. NYC.

About OBJECTDEFY
OBJECTDEFY is a community resource interested in aiding the creation and celebration of radical queer art through assisted media production, creative collaboration across multiple fields and social events which serve as catalyst for change. Since its inception in 2018, OBJECTDEFY has hosted fundraisers for local trans artists, created the Community Medicine Cabinet, an initiative dedicated to the sustainable redistribution of HRT medication, delivered open-mics in collaboration with local trans organizations and created Satellite, a party dedicated to highlighting new Black trans DJs. OBJECTDEFY now returns to its ethos in 2026, hoping to continue to be a host for community interaction - melding art, humanity, and celebration together to create moments that truly envision a greater reality.

Accessibility
Air purification at all prorgrams in this series is provided by A.I.R. NYC. Limited chairs with backs will be available.
