Comedian, playwright, and author Lewis Black will visit the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library on November 9, 2025, to share reflections on his lifelong journey as a writer and to view the unveiling of the Lewis Black Youth Comedy Writing Program. The museum will also reveal an exhibition of his writing life.
Long before his rise to fame as one of America’s most insightful and sharp-tongued comedians, Black was a young writer finding his voice in school, where he first discovered the thrill of storytelling and the power of language to expose truth and absurdity. His passion for writing grew through college and graduate study in playwriting at the University of North Carolina and the Yale School of Drama, where he honed his distinctive blend of humor, intellect, and social critique. During his visit, Black will discuss how those formative writing experiences shaped his creative life and how, like Kurt Vonnegut, he continues to use wit and words to challenge convention and illuminate the human condition.
VIP Tickets Only available for the first 30 people to purchase them!
VIP Reception will feature catering from Chef Keagy, and live music from folk duo Bomar & Ritter!
