About This Event
This mentorship based afterschool program invites teens to the farm to gather with peers interested in learning practical farming skills, being outdoors, growing, harvesting and sharing food together, and weaving in themes of self care, breathing, and mindfulness on the farm.
Spring Session Details
Who: Teens ages 12–17 (small group of 10 participants)
Dates: Wednesdays, March 25 – May 13 (8 sessions)
Time: 4:30–6:30 PM
Fee: $400
Spring curriculum includes:
• Soil work and compost making
• Greenhouse seed propagation
• Garden bed preparation and planting
• Chicken brooding and hatching
• Calf care and leading
• Working with draft cattle and oxen
• Cow milking and dairy arts
Teens will take part in spring seed sowing, soil preparation, and planting. As early vegetables come into season, participants will harvest produce they’ve grown and bring food home in late April and May. Each session includes a light farm-fresh snack prepared together using seasonal ingredients from the farm.

Summer and Fall Teen Farmer Group sessions are planned as well, with sign-ups opening later this spring.
• Summer Session: Fridays, June 12 – August 14 (no session July 3rd or 10th), 8 sessions
• Fall Session: Wednesdays, September 9 – October 28, 4:30–6:30 PM (8 sessions)
