Westside Food Bank Information

Founded in 1981 by the Westside Ecumenical Council — a coalition of Westside social service agencies — Westside Food Bank is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, providing food for individuals and families in West Los Angeles County. Our mission is to end hunger in our communities by providing access to free, nutritious food through food acquisition and distribution, and by engaging the community and advocating for a strong food assistance network. We are committed to providing high-nutrition value food to our community, including fresh produce, high-protein foods and pantry staples. WSFB has a network of 60+ partner agencies that distribute 4.7 million pounds of food annually. Partner agency programs include food pantries, preschool/after-school programs, domestic violence shelters, senior citizen meal and grocery delivery programs, bridge housing facilities and more. The wide variety of nutritious food we provide goes to families with children, seniors, people experiencing homelessness, veterans, college students and differently-abled people.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink

Matthew 25:35

St. Monica is still teaming up with Westside Food Bank every second Sunday of the month to fight hunger! Westside Food Bank is a great organization that provides food to 60+ local agencies who then distribute that food to those in need and struggling. Food insecurity is at an all-time high locally. According to a recent study by USC Dornsife's Public Exchange, nearly a quarter (24%) of Los Angeles County households are facing food insecurity. Your donation helps men, women and children have access to nutritious food. With every dollar you donate, Westside Food Bank is able to provide four meals for people experiencing food insecurity while working to help improve the overall food safety network. Please be generous!
