The Henry Hart Project: Preview and Benefit

About This Event

LYO has commissioned local composer, Rachel Grimes, to create new arrangements of popular dance music composed by Henry Hart, a 19th-century Kentucky-born African-American violinist and composer. The project will culminate in an April premiere performance by 300 LYO students.

  • Chamber Music performance featuring Gabriel Lefkowitz, Rachel Grimes, and LYO Young Artists
  • Historical talk on Henry Hart by Rachel Grimes

  • Self-guided tours of the historic Oxmoor Farm homestead
