About This Event
Kathleen Paydo is a registered nurse, a Summit County Ohio Foster Parent, and an author. She and her husband Ron, along with their four biological children have cared for children placed with them in their foster home for over thirty years. She serves on the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program Steering Committee through the Ohio Department of Child and Youth. She is the author of two books. Fostering Love: “A Glimpse into Foster Care” and ”Parenting Love: Clever Ideas Learned From Raising 200 Children” both of which advocate for the needs of children in blended families.
Kathleen, and her family have fostered more than 200 children and especially treasure the long-term relationships they have with many of their foster alumni, even years after leaving their home. Ron and Kathleen were the recipients of the Wadsworth Key to the City in 2023 and the Council of Italian Americans Society Humanitarian Award in 2025. In their spare time they enjoy going on quiet walks and spending time with their young grandchildren. Ron and Kathleen live in Wadsworth, Ohio with their dog Jack.
