In Ukraine, children with intellectual disabilities are almost never seen in public. Most families are encouraged to give up their disabled children at birth, and those children are placed in orphanages where neglect, malnourishment, and physical restraints are common. Once admitted, there is no legal path to remove them.
Valeriia Martyniuk built Love that Heals as a free day program for the small number of families who chose to raise their disabled children at home instead, giving these youth community and basic life skills they'd otherwise never have access to. When one boy in her program lost his mother and was taken by the state before Valeriia could become his guardian, she vowed it would never happen again. She worked to register Love that Heals as an official NGO and secure a permanent home where her youth can live once their parents are gone.

That home is now purchased, thanks to generous donors. What Valeriia needs now is sustained monthly support to keep the day program itself running — the staff, supplies, and activities that give these youth community, skills, and hope every week. Your recurring gift keeps that work going.
