2026 January Ecofilm: Short Film Collection
About the films: January’s film programing features four short films exploring the deep connections between people, place, and wildlife. Your Rose Garden is a musical celebration of the Berkeley Rose Garden. The Last Spotted Turtles of New England examines the endangered future of spotted turtles in southeastern Massachusetts and on Nantucket through the voices of local conservation leaders. In Between Earth and Sky, renowned forest ecologist Nalini Nadkarni reflects on her life and work after a near-fatal accident. The Snowy Owls of Logan Airport follows raptor specialist Norman Smith as he studies and safely relocates snowy owls from one of the nation’s busiest airports.
We are grateful for our fantastic partners in this film series, including our co-hosts, the Lowell Film Collaborative, and our venue partner, the Lowell National Historical Park. Our event sponsors are Rockland Trust and the Mass Cultural Council. Thank you to our sponsors and partners for making the series possible!
