Gala 2024 - Springtime in Paris

About This Event

Join us for a soirée magique (magical evening) at the 2024

Springtime in Paris Making Hope Happen Foundation Gala

This includes dinner, wine, networking opportunities, the festive sounds of the Teen Music Workshop, student art auctions (100% of which benefit the student artists), the HOPE and Karnig Awards, great auction items, and a guarantee that your participation will make hope happen in San Bernardino.

Our 2024 HOPE and Karnig Award Winners are:

  • Hero for Hope Award: Heri Garcia - for representing San Bernardino in a positive light

  • Opportunity Maker Award: Bank of America - for creating opportunities for transformative change in our community

  • Patron Award: Phil and Lynda Savage - for contributing significantly to advance the mission of our organization

  • Empowering Hope Award: Kaiser Permanente - for a forward-thinking vision that has inspired and fueled us to make a bigger impact

Dr. Albert Karnig Award: Karen Scott - for commitment to developing a community infrastructure to help families to be healthy and successful

Why support the Making Hope Happen Foundation

Last year, through their support of the Gala, sponsors and guests:

  • Sent 128 high school graduates from San Bernardino City Schools to college with Mentor Supported Scholarships. Many of these kids were the first in their families to attend college, were homeless or in foster care, and all were low-income

  • Taught hundreds of low-income families how to prepare their babies for lifelong learning to level the playing field for kids who often start school behind their more affluent peers

  • Supported more than 200 college students with paid mentors to help them with the first two years of college

  • Trained more than 450 adults in Youth Mental Health First Aid, (Adult) Mental Health First Aid, and/or QPR Gatekeeper (a suicide prevention modality), giving them the skills they need to help others suffering from a mental health or addiction crisis

  • Provided thousands of books through the Karnig Infant Toddler Success (KITS) and Innovation in Education programs for children ages 0-5 in English and/or Spanish

  • Through Uplift San Bernardino and its partnerships, hundreds of families purchased homes, started businesses, received workforce training, landed new jobs, and/or engaged positively with the community.

This year’s event promises to be even better!

Our annual gala is an exciting occasion for our organization, supporters, and friends to celebrate our shared mission of turning poverty into prosperity by unlocking the power of education and inspiring a love of learning where it is needed most.
