About This Event

We are thrilled to be hosting our second annual gala, an opportunity for the Jewish Family Services community to come together, celebrate, and raise funds for our critical, life-saving programs and support: the Matzah Ball!

This year's Matzah Ball will take place against the background of a presidential administration that has suspended the refugee resettlement program. As we grapple with the impacts of the new presidential administration’s policy positions on immigrants and refugees, it’s more important than ever that we come together to support, uplift, and celebrate immigrants and refugees in our community.

We are devastated by the announcement that the refugee resettlement program has been suspended and deeply concerned about its impact on our staff, clients, and programs, BUT we are resolute in our commitment to continue to provide critical, life-saving services to immigrants and refugees already here in our communities.

This year’s celebration will look a little different…

This ticketed event will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at a new location: The Admiral Room! The night will feature a plated dinner, a vibrant program during dinner featuring special performances, an awards ceremony, open bar, dancing, and more.

Each year, this event will have a theme, prompting guests to dress up to match it. This year’s theme is… kaleidoscope!

Community, or kehilla, is central to Judaism. JFS’ community is made up of many beautiful individual stories, much in the same way that a kaleidoscopic image is made up of thousands of individual reflections. This year’s Matzah Ball will honor the kaleidoscope we make when we come together to create a beautiful pattern as one!

In the midst of fear, darkness, and confusion, we are choosing to focus on the beauty and light that our JFS kaleidoscope creates. And coming together for the Matzah Ball is a powerful demonstration of how we can continue to build and support an inclusive and vibrant community.
