About This Event
Peter Leone is an Olympic Silver Medalist, International Grand Prix rider, broadcaster, and author who rode on the United States Equestrian Team for over thirty years. He has jumped and placed in six World Cup Finals and now trains riders to win at the best shows in the world.
Leone trained with many prominent horsemen including Bertlan DeNemethy, Frank Chapot, George Morris, and Michael Matz. Peter completed his junior career bursting onto the international jumping scene by winning the World Cup Grand Prix of New York at the age of 18. Peter started riding for the US team at the age of 19, representing our country in the 1982 World Championships, the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, six World Cup Finals, and over thirty Nations Cups. Highlights include two-time winner of the American Gold Cup, three time winner of the US Open Jumping Championship, three time winner of the Grand Prix of New York.
In 1994, Peter established Lionshare Farm, a world-class training program. Two years to the day he contributed to a US Team Silver Medal for the United States in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games aboard Legato. Peter went on to compete on many Nations Cup Teams for the USA and contributed to the US winning the Samsung Nations Cup Series in 1998.

Peter’s great understanding of the sport and experience have made him a successful instructor, author, DVD producer, clinician, and broadcaster. Peter’s book “Peter Leone's Show Jumping Clinic: Success Strategies for Equestrian Competitors” has been highly successful along with his training DVD, “Ride the Body: Select Insights of Peter Leone”. He is a regular broadcaster on the daily WVVH-TV Hampton Classic broadcasts.
This year our clinic will be a USHJA Mini EAP, which will include a mounted riding clinic, stable management clinic, and lesson material. The curriculum will follow in line with Mini EAP Levels 2, 3 and 4 assigned accordingly below, click here to review the USHJA Mini EAP Levels https://www.ushja.org/education/emerging-athletes-program/mini-eap/mini-eap-clinic-levels. This is an all day event for our participants.The four (4) different heights offered with the assigned levels are listed below:
- 2' - USHJA Mini EAP Level 2
- 2'6" - USHJA Mini EAP Level 3
- 3' - USHJA Mini EAP Level 4
- 3'6" - USHJA Mini EAP Level 4
The schedule and assigned riding times will be based on total participant registration.The DEADLINE to register is August 1, 2026, or when the event meets capacity. There are NO REFUNDS available after this date.
