Sustaining Guardians, Airmen, and Families

Across Space Systems Command (SSC) and the U.S. Space Force (USSF), Guardians, Airmen, civilians, and their families quietly carry the weight of the mission every day. Behind the launches, contracts, and critical operations are households that still need groceries, fuel, and basic essentials — even when life throws unexpected challenges their way.

A sudden car repair, a medical bill, a PCS that stretches a budget, a spouse out of work; these moments of strain can quickly turn into hardship.

The Galactic Emporium is dedicated to helping bridge those gaps through ongoing, targeted support — and we need your help to keep that support flowing.

Why Your Support Matters

Requests for assistance are not limited to crises or shutdowns. They appear year-round:

  • Families needing help with groceries between paychecks
  • Guardians and Airmen facing high living costs
  • Households navigating emergency expenses or unexpected challenges

On-base food pantries are being restocked as quickly as shelves empty. Grocery and fuel cards from community partners are making a real difference — but demand continues to grow.

Your donation today becomes immediate relief for members of our space community.

How We're Responding

The Galactic Emporium supports those in need through two unified efforts:

The Mission Continuity Relief Fund (MCRF)

  • Provides grocery and fuel cards for Guardians, Airmen, civilians, and families facing financial hardship — whether due to unexpected expenses, high cost of living, or temporary loss of income. MCRF is designed to reduce financial stress so our community can stay focused on the mission.

VALOR Initiative (Vital Assistance and Logistics for Operational Resilience)

  • VALOR supplies food and household essentials through on-base pantry operations and trusted community partnerships. From pantry staples to hygiene items, VALOR ensures that families can access what they need with dignity and speed.

All support is coordinated through official military support channels at USSF and associated installations, ensuring that every donation reaches verified families quickly, responsibly, and in compliance with applicable guidance.

“I am a full time federal employee and a member of the Air National Guard. During the 43 day government shutdown, I, unfortunately, was not considered an exempt employee and was not getting paid. Thankfully, I was able to utilize my military resources and attend one of your food drives held for furloughed employees. It was great to have some support. Thank you!”

– Deycy Castillo

“During the government shutdown, my team and I continued working without pay, and the support we received made an incredible difference. Along with gas and grocery gift cards for myself and 12 staff members, we were also provided with weekly food donations that helped sustain us during a very challenging time. We were truly grateful for the generosity as we continued serving our military community with dedication. Your kindness and support were deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.”

- Diana Scott, Childcare Provider

“During the government shutdown, Galactic Emporium proved to be an invaluable lifeline for both active-duty personnel and federal civilian employees who were furloughed or working without pay. Their support went far beyond simple goodwill-providing groceries, grocery gift cards, and fresh produce to families who suddenly found themselves struggling. In some cases, they even supplied gas cards to help federal civilians commute to work despite not receiving a paycheck. Galactic Emporium’s compassion, responsiveness, and genuine care for the community made a significant difference during a difficult and uncertain time. Their efforts didn’t just meet needs-they restored hope.”
