About This Event
Return to Your Senses: Pause, Awaken your Senses and Rediscover Wonder in the Garden
With summer’s garden bounty, there is so much to explore --not only with your eyes, but with all your senses. Join Melinda Nakagawa for an afternoon of noticing, listening, touching, tasting, smelling, and reading the language of nature and learning to recognize and capture a richer conversation with the natural world.
You’ll have time for slowing the pace, and meeting nature with a full sensory experience. Melinda will guide you with simple ways to record the unseen onto your pages, to deepen your connection to nature, here and in your own garden.
Nature journaling is a fun practice that nurtures mindful time with nature, sharpens your awareness, see more through sketching, connect to your inner nature through reflecting with journaling. This experience is a gentle, low-pressure, and creative way to be in community in the garden that leaves you feeling calm, joyful and replenished.
Materials included: a simple sketchbook, pen, colored pencils. Feel free to bring your favorite sketchbook and journaling materials as well.
