Kabbalat Shabbat

About This Event

As we come to the close of the month of Cheshvan, just days after turning our clocks back an hour, we invite you to gather for Kabbalat Shabbat. As the days grow shorter and the evenings longer, what a sweet opportunity to come together, bask in the quiet following the fullness of our High Holiday season, and welcome Shabbat with song, prayer, and community.

Join us on Friday, November 6, at 6:00 PM, in the beautiful Assembly Hall at Harmony School in Occidental. Rabbi Zelig Golden and Hazzanit Julie Batz will lead us in prayer and song, accompanied by our wonderful musicians Nate Levin on guitar, David Davis on cello, and Brian Lemesh on percussion. Together, we'll soften into the rhythms of Shabbat, nourish our spirits, and share in the warmth of being together.

A community potluck will follow at 7:30 PM. Please bring a hearty dish to share. Families are warmly welcome, and we'll have a simple childcare option available for children during the service.

We look forward to welcoming Shabbat together, slowing down, opening our hearts, and finding warmth and light in community as we move deeper into the darker season.

With love and blessings,

Rabbi Zelig Golden
