I hope this letter finds you very well. Since launching in June 2012, we have learned a lot about building a new Foundation.
Simply put, we can’t do it without you, and it’s with heartfelt encouragement that we ask you to join the Bricklayers Crew.
The Bricklayers Crew is a sustaining circle that makes possible the work of MetaIntegral Foundation. This is our sole capital campaign. Members truly are the main benefactors of our nonprofit organization and help us advance our mission:
To foster the emergence of integral philosophy and culture on a global scale.
For those new to integral philosophy, it’s synonymous with post-materialistic values, empathetic consciousness, concern for the global commons, educating the whole person – and more. Integral is a global worldview and a way of living. It’s our way of creating a global civilization that is wise, compassionate and thriving! We’re a young organization still finding our legs, but we have a bright future and we’re already doing meaningful work in the areas of education, leader development, and grantmaking:
Will you join the Bricklayers Crew and make a commitment to MetaIntegral Foundation in the amount of $1000/year for three years? This can be done monthly if you prefer, annually, or as a single payment if you are able to give at that level. As a Bricklayer you will provide us with the means to run a strong operation and gain traction in the crucial time ahead, as we build our capacity to do the work we are so committed to doing.
We'd like to build upon our foundation-setting accomplishments by hosting our next international conference in 2015; by publishing more cutting-edge integral research, theory, and applications in our academic journal; by delivering new programs through our Integral Centers and growing them into mature institutions that serve our communities; by expanding our grantmaking capacity and pioneering integral models of philanthropy; by working with grantees to evaluate project impacts and demonstrate the value of integral impact to society.
Your support is vital. Your contribution will be concrete.

- One of the main things we have learned is you have to do it brick-by-brick – so the resulting foundation can support our actions and enable our greatest possible contribution to society.
- The other thing we have learned is that building a public charity from scratch – without seed funding and with a forward-thinking mission – requires the support and involvement of many people.

- In 2013 we convened 500 people from over 20 countries for the 3rd international Integral Theory Conference, the world's premier academic event for educators and social innovators to gather and advance integral research and applications.
- We published a 200-page special issue of the Journal of Integral Theory and Practice focused on Integral Business, with articles that will support leaders and organizations pioneering new ways of doing business to serve the commons and secure our future.
- We successfully negotiated a partnership between the Medical University of South Carolina and the Integral Health & Medicine Center to develop and deliver an 18-month training program for physicians.
- In our Sustainability Center, we delivered a three-day certification in integral sustainability in Portuguese to community leaders and business executives in Brazil.
- In our Research Center, we have partnered with the International Centre for Critical Realism to co-host a symposium in London in 2014 on integral approaches to climate change.
- In April 2014 we will award up to $20K in grants for projects voted on and crowd-funded globally by champions of integral philosophy and culture.
