About The Event

The Hope in Every Step Symposium brings together people living with Parkinson’s disease, care partners, healthcare professionals, and community members for a day of education, connection, and encouragement. 

The day will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Ray Dorsey, movement disorder specialist and coauthor of The Parkinson’s Plan and Ending Parkinson’s Disease. Attendees will also take part in Parkinson’s-specific exercise sessions, hear clinical presentations on dementia and surgical treatment options, participate in an expert Q&A panel, enjoy lunch, and have time to visit sponsors.

 

Registration & Pricing

General admission is $35, or $30 with early bird pricing when you register by February 11.
General admission is not eligible for Continuing Education credits.

Healthcare professional registration is $75 to earn 5 Continuing Education (CE) credits.
Early bird pricing does not apply to the CE registration option.

This program offers 5 CE credits for registered nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and allied health professionals. Accreditation details and certificates will be provided following the event.

Free Book for Early Registrants

The first 150 registrants for the Metro Detroit symposium will receive a free copy of The Parkinson’s Plan.

Books are provided one per person or per couple and must be reserved during registration. Supplies are limited and subject to availability.

Book Information & Book Club – The Parkinson’s Plan


How do I reserve a copy of the book?

When you register for the symposium, you’ll be asked how many copies of The Parkinson’s Plan you would like to reserve. Books are provided one per person or per couple, with a maximum of two copies per registration.

If you are registering a larger group and multiple individuals would like their own copy, separate registrations may be completed to reserve additional books. For questions about larger group registrations or book needs, please contact Jennifer Muscat at 248-433-1160 or jmuscat@parkinsonsmi.org before registering.
 



When and where can I pick up my book?

Multiple book pick-up opportunities will be offered leading up to the symposium, and participants are also welcome to pick up their reserved copy at:

Is there a book club for The Parkinson’s Plan?

Yes. MPF will host a virtual book club for The Parkinson’s Plan before the symposium. Participation is optional. Those who choose to join the book club may wish to pick up their book in advance so they can read along and participate in discussions.

The book club is a great opportunity to connect with others in the Parkinson’s community and attend the symposium with shared insights and questions for Dr. Ray Dorsey.
