45th Annual Wesson Memorial Run

Join us for a Gulf Coast tradition as the Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA hosts the 45th Annual Wesson Memorial Run on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

This family-friendly Fourth of July event brings runners, walkers, kids, and dogs together for a morning of fitness, fun, and community impact. Whether you are racing for a personal best or simply enjoying the holiday with friends and family, there is something for everyone.

Event Schedule

• Day-of registration opens at 7:00 AM

• 2 Mile Run begins at 8:00 AM

• 1/4 Mile Kids Fun Run begins at 8:30 AM

• Dog Walk begins at 9:00 AM

Every registered participant will receive a free event shirt. The morning will feature a DJ, a food truck, and free snacks for all racers.

By continuing to register for this event, you agree to the waiver below.

Waiver of Liability: I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run.

I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known, unknown and appreciated by me.

Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of my entry being accepted, I for myself (or on behalf of my minor child if minor child is participating), and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA and the Gulf Coast Running Club, Inc., and all sponsors, their representatives and successors and/or assigns from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participating in this event.

I grant permission to all of the forgoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recording or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
