Join us on Thursday, September 10, from 6–8 PM for the Opening Reception of Michael Borders: Connecticut Industry, a monumental eight-panel mural tracing nearly 300 years of Connecticut’s people, landscape, labor, manufacturing, and innovation.
Spanning 40 feet and more than 25 years in the making, Connecticut Industry brings together the forces that have shaped the state—from Indigenous craftsmanship and water-powered mills to submarines, helicopters, aerospace, and contemporary manufacturing.
“I imagined the painting as a giant motor—an image that could convey the power of the people, the land, the machines, and everything working together,” Borders says.
