A Legacy of Love
We continue to love our pets even after they are no longer with us. Watauga Humane Society has experienced the loss of beloved animals in our care, just as members of our Board of Directors and staff have experienced the loss of their own pets. Together, we understand the importance of providing comfort while honoring the animals we have loved.
To engage our community in remembrance, a section of the WHS campus has been set aside for a special art installation. Made possible by a bequest from artist Stephanie Welden, this mural will offer a beautiful reminder of how much animals mean to us. More than a work of art, it will celebrate the love we carry for our animals—now and forever.
The installation will be complemented by a Rainbow Bridge at the trailhead of Watauga Humane Society’s dog-walking trails through the Everlasting Woods, creating a peaceful place for reflection and remembrance.
Honor a beloved pet by having their name woven into the mural’s design with a gift of $150, or $100 per pet when honoring two or more pets.
Thank you for helping us memorialize the pets we have loved and lost while creating a beautiful place where pet parents can find comfort and process their grief.
