About This Event
Your next job is not on a job board. Your next mentor is not going to find you. Your next opportunity is not going to knock. It is sitting in a room you have not walked into yet — with someone who does not know you exist.
Most women wait until they desperately need something before they start building relationships. And that is exactly why networking feels transactional, exhausting, and fake. Real professional relationships — the kind that lead to referrals, mentorship, job offers, and collaborations — are built before you need them. They are built with intention, with generosity, and with the kind of sisterhood that Muslim women are uniquely positioned to create for each other. There is a specific kind of power that happens when Muslim women find each other professionally. This session is about how to build that — on purpose.
Your host, Noor Qwfan, is the Vice Chair of the MWP Board of Directors and has spent nearly a decade building exactly the kind of career pathways and professional networks this session is about. She has opened doors for hundreds of students and early-career professionals — and she is here to show you how to start doing the same for yourself, right now.
YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH
- Understanding the power of who you know and how relationships can open doors
- Learning the importance of mentorship and how to find the right mentor
- Knowing how to initiate and maintain meaningful professional relationships
- Leaving with one concrete action to start building your network today
YOUR SPEAKER
Noor Qwfan is the Vice Chair of the Muslim Women Professionals Board of Directors and a dedicated advocate for the next generation of Muslim women professionals.
With nearly a decade of experience leading career readiness initiatives, Noor has built career pathways for hundreds of students across industries including agriculture, business, manufacturing, and beyond. Her background spans higher education, community outreach, student development, and operational excellence, combining strategic leadership with meaningful, on-the-ground impact. Noor also serves on the American Red Cross board, reflecting a broader commitment to community leadership and service. Across Muslim spaces, higher education, nonprofit boardrooms, and professional settings where she has often been the only Muslim woman in the room, she has built her career through genuine, intentional relationships.
She brings that experience to this session with a practical understanding of how to build a network that extends beyond familiar spaces and creates real opportunities. Noor holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Fine and Studio Arts. She is passionate about helping others build relationships with the same integrity and intention that have shaped her own career.
