NAMI Portage and Wood Counties is the local affiliate of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Portage-Wood County offers no cost peer-led support groups, provides education, awareness, and advocacy for those living with a mental illness, as well as for their families, friends and community members. NAMI Portage-Wood Counties is a grassroots nonprofit organization and supports their community through:

• Offering peer and family support groups in both Portage and Wood counties.
• Promoting public education and understanding of mental illnesses through the sharing of local and statewide resources and presentations. 
• Holds local awareness events to eliminate the stigma around mental illness and continue the conversation of mental health.

These efforts are funded through memberships, donations, fundraising and grants and are led by our fully volunteer board of director's and program leaders in your community.
