Clyde was adopted from Texas Humane Heroes in 2018 by Logan, shortly after he returned home from serving overseas in the military.

After returning to Texas, Logan was dealing with significant mental and emotional pain, and getting a dog was the last thing on his mind. But decided to visit our shelter—and everything changed.

That visit led him to Clyde—“Clydey.”

From the moment they met, they were inseparable.

Over the years, Clydey traveled the country with Logan as the Army moved him from Texas to Missouri, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Through every move, every transition, and every difficult day, Clydey was there.

He became the best friend Logan didn’t know he needed—and the reason he kept going during one of the hardest times in his life.

In Logan’s words:

“I am alive today because he loved me so unconditionally.”

In April, Clydey passed away peacefully after battling heart disease.
Or as Logan said, “he just had too much love to give.”

But the impact of that bond didn’t end there.

Because of Clydey, Logan is still here.
