About Stafford's Soldiers

Individual registration includes 1 canvas tote bag, family registration includes 2. Additional tote bags available for $10.

At the end of the walk, each participant will be treated to a delicious scoop of ice cream courtesy of our friends at Blue Cow Ice Cream Co.!

What is PKU?

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a rare, inherited metabolic disorder where the body is unable to break down phenylalanine, an amino acid found in protein. Without proper treatment, phenylalanine can build up in the blood, leading to serious health issues such as intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and neurological problems. PKU is managed through a strict low-protein diet and, in some cases, medication. Early diagnosis through newborn screening and ongoing treatment can help individuals with PKU lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

About the National PKU Alliance

The National PKU Alliance (NPKUA) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with PKU. Through advocacy, research, education, and support, NPKUA works to expand treatment options and raise awareness about PKU. We connect families and individuals with resources, foster a supportive community, and fund critical research to find a cure. Our mission is to ensure that everyone with PKU can lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
