About This Event
Join the Carolina Thread Trail as we explore the Falcon Trail in Stanly County for National Trails Day!
This will be a group hike on a largely gravel trail through forest and open fields. While the majority of the Falcon Trail is gravel, some sections will be paved sidewalk or dirt. The entire length of the trail is fairly flat, and there will be some shaded sections. We can expect to hike at approximately 2 miles per hour.
We will plan to meet at Richfield Park at 8:00AM and depart on the trail around 8:20. We will hike toward the Richfield terminus of the trail first, which will put us back at the trailhead after roughly 4 miles (2 miles out and back). After a brief break we will then depart toward the Misenheimer terminus of the trailhead to hike the remaining 6 miles (roughly 3 miles out and back).
