About This Event

Carolina Thread Trail and Veterans Bridge Home are teaming up for a hike dedicated to our nation's heroes! Veterans and the veterans community are encouraged to join us for a relaxing hike along the Duke Kimbrell Trail and Stowe Connector, adjacent to Daniel Stowe Conservancy in Belmont, NC. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with fellow veterans and community members while enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. Service animals and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join!

We will hike a loop around Stowe Conservancy using the Duke Kimbrell Trail and Stowe Connector Trail. The trails will be mostly unpaved and narrow, with some sections comprised of natural dirt surfaces and some featuring crushed concrete. The terrain is fairly flat and any inclines are short. Most of the loop will be in the shade. Our route will take us down towards Lake Wylie and through a preserve owned by Catawba Lands Conservancy. All of the trails we will hike are free to the public, and we can expect to see a few other hikers out at the same time. After our hike the Trailhead Store will be open for refreshments.
