Now in its fifth year, New Destiny’s Symposium has become the premier convening at the intersection of domestic violence and housing in New York—bringing together advocates, government leaders, funders, service providers, and survivors to share proven solutions and chart the path forward. This past January, 200 attendees filled the room for our largest gathering yet. This October, we’re building on that momentum.

- A keynote by Katrina Brownlee, retired NYPD detective, survivor, and best-selling author of And Then Came the Blues: My Story of Survival on Both Sides of the Badge.
- A City Hall discussion on the city's vision to house and serve domestic violence survivors, including the Commissioner of the brand-new Mayor's Office of Community Safety, Dr. Ayesha Delany-Brumsey.
- New findings from New Destiny's latest report authored by Simmons University researcher Dr. Kristie A. Thomas, evaluating the efficacy of New Destiny’s Emergency Housing Voucher Aftercare Program.
- A legislative convening of New York City and State’s most influential housing and social services lawmakers, including Senator Roxanne J. Persaud, Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, and Councilmember Pierina Ana Sanchez.
- A closing keynote from Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, whose office has been a leading voice on the housing crisis facing survivors.
To keep our programming exclusive to those working directly in the housing, domestic violence, and social services fields, and to ensure we appropriately compensate all participants with lived experience, we will charge a small fee for tickets. If you are a domestic violence survivor or have lived experience of homelessness, you may request a scholarship to attend the event free of charge. Please complete this form if this applies to you.
