About This Event
Ever wanted to learn about all the work that goes into caring for the patients at the Florida Wildlife Hospital? Well, now you can experience many of these assistive tasks yourself, which in turn help the staff at the hospital focus on what's most important, the patients. On these days, the public will get an opportunity to volunteer some of their time to do things like sort newspaper, cut linens, make enrichment, garden, and more! All of these chores help us provide quality, compassionate care.
This session, (May 3rd from 2-4pm), we will be sorting newspaper. Our primary use for newspaper at the hospital is for patient bedding. We sort our paper by color for different species.
As we sort together, staff will elaborate on why these tasks are so important, and how helpful it is to have people like you join us in doing them! During our sessions, there may even be an opportunity to meet an ambassador animal!
These sessions are open to all members of the public of any age. We just ask that all individuals joining are able to participate in the task set for the day. We also require all minors under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult. There is no guarantee the specific location on hospital grounds for doing each session, as this may vary due to weather, task, or group size.
We are so excited to have you join us! If you are interested in more of these events, follow us on social media, and sign up to be alerted of upcoming sessions at http://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScYYDBhcCtcpQLUW3p8idXJwDcaZ7WxhisgNp9znyP3DVm2GA/viewform
Thank you for helping us keep wildlife wild!
