Boundary Lines, Deeds, Titles and Quit Claim

This 2-hour workshop will give you the tools to help in recovering boundaries in NH. Covered topics include research techniques, deciphering deed references, boundary line location, and interpreting a survey. Additionally, the topic of property transfers and deed types will be covered with a special focus on quit claim deeds. The importance of this issue was recently highlighted when the state uncovered a fraud ring where outside parties were laying claim and stealing the title to lands by filing illegal quitclaim deeds at the County Court House. In fact, this issue is the subject of a proposed legislative study committee being considered by the NH House of Representatives (House Bill 1040)

We will be doing an activity that includes reading a deed and corresponding survey, and allow time at the end to look at your own deed and any map you may have if so desired.
