Help Alex's farm through stronger fracking protections
By donating to the Ohio Environmetnal Council today, you'll be uniting with Ohioans across the state to demand:
- More transparency. Fracking companies should be required to notify emergency planners and responders about all fracking chemicals stored on-site or in-use before an accident or spill occurs.Fire departments, first responders, Ohio EPA, and drinking water authorities need to know what they’re up against.
- Greater distances between fracking facilities and our homes, streams, and drinking water supplies. It is unacceptable that a fracking well can be closer to a waterway than the distance between home plate and the pitcher’s mound. Ohio has some of the weakest minimumdistance requirements in the nation.
- Safety training and equipment. Firefighters, EPA staff, and other first responders need the most up-to-date
ltraining and equipment to deal with the surge in fracking emergencies.
