Your support has allowed us to create extraordinary partnerships between our clients and their Leader Dogs, like Kayla and her Leader Dog, Kane.

At 14, Kayla was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa (RP), which causes vision loss. Despite the roadblocks caused by RP, she found solace in the blind community and eventually came to Leader Dogs for the Blind where she was matched with Kane. The strong bond they developed provided Kayla the support she needed to thrive in college and beyond.

Kayla said Kane became “the star of the show,” helping her make many new friends during college. Kayla’s increased confidence helped her to achieve leadership positions and graduate with a degree in Human Resource and Business Administration. Today, she works full-time at AAA–The Auto Club Group.
