“George Washington’s Dilemma” tackles the story of the French volunteers who helped win American independence. Volunteers were commissioned as officers in the Continental Army, and some had become great assets to General Washington, while others were frauds who came to America to make money.

Arthur Lefkowitz is an independent researcher specializing in the American Revolution. Arthur has a laudable reputation for tackling offbeat but interesting aspects of Our War for Independence that present a research challenge. He has published nine books to date on unique subjects including Colonel Arron Burr’s impressive Revolutionary War service, the American Turtle Submarine, and George Washington’s brilliant defense of New Jersey’s Watchung Mountains. Arthur’s education includes a BA from New York University and an MBA from Long Island University. He lives in New Jersey, which is accurately depicted as the Crossroads of the American Revolution.

Lectures will begin at 6 PM at the Old Barracks Museum, followed by a Q&A and book signing. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be available.
