Presented by Overton Park Conservancy

City Nature Challenge at Overton Park

Registration is not open yet!

About This Event

Join the City Nature Challenge, a worldwide movement to document wild nature and help fight biodiversity loss!

Conservancy staff will lead us on an exploratory BioBlitz in Overton Park, where every photo you upload to iNaturalist becomes a data point that helps scientists understand and protect wildlife. We'll record wildlife such as plants, insects, fungi, reptiles, birds, and mammals.

Last year, our community contributed close to 2.7K observations! Together, we can build an even stronger picture of nature in Memphis. No experience with iNaturalist necessary - all ages welcome.

This program will be held on natural surface trails, limestone trails, and/or pavement surfaces. Accessible (paved) routes available.

This event is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested contribution of $5 per person. Registration opens 2 weeks in advance.

By registering and attending this event, you agree to our Waiver and Release Agreement.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.

The Conservancy must raise roughly 90% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
